Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Olympic Games Walker Thompson. DESCRIPTION: They’re off on the 50 kilometre walk. Among those going well in the early stages was Oakley (Canada) who finished sixth. After some 10 kilometres, A Singh of India was in the lead, just ahead of British hope Don Thompson and Ljunggren (Sweden). At the finish Thompson was ahead of Ljunggren and so set a new Olympic Record and a gold medal for Great Britain. SHOTLIST: Key scene - MS competitors walking out of Stadium.
