Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Family at Braemar Gathering in Colour. DESCRIPTION: At the Braemar Gathering, the Queen and the Royal Family saw, with over twenty thousand other people, some of the contests held at the Gathering. There was wrestling, tossing the caber and Highland dancing, among some of the items. Then at Balmoral Castle, where the Royal Family are on holiday and our pictures show Prince Andrew with his mother, father, brother and sister, enjoying himself tremendously. SHOTLIST: GVs of Balmoral Castle. Shots of pipe bands. GV Arena. Shots of Games - putting the weight etc., dancing. Arrival of Royal party, are greeted by Highland Society officials (party includes Queen, Duke, Anne. Charles, Queen Mother, Princess Margaret, Armstrong-Jones). Shots of massed bands. Shots of games: tossing the caber, wrestling etc. Queen presents a shield to best pipers. ROYAL BALMORAL HOLIDAY - CARD 81034 Various scenes of the Royal Family walking in the grounds of Balmoral together. Many shots of family seated on the ground. Excellent shots.
