- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Freak Crash. DESCRIPTION: The first run of the Vanderbilt Cup race was in 1904. But, till now, it had been in abeyance for over twenty years. Jim Rathman (winner of this year’s Indianapolis 500) went in for a spot of leap-frog. Neither of the drivers was hurt, though it put them out of the running.
