MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: De Gaulle in Canada. DESCRIPTION: President de Gaulle, with Mr Diefenbaker (Canada’s Prime Minister) inspected the Guard of Honour at a ceremony in Confederation Square, Ottawa. This ceremony was the laying of a wreath in tribute to the fallen, at the National War Memorial. The President then made a point of having friendly greetings with as many Ottawa people as possible.
