MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Built By Britain. DESCRIPTION: The Shah of Iran himself had come to Khorramshahr to perform the opening ceremony of a bridge across the river Karun. This bridge links Iran’s chief port with Abadan Island, and the great oil refinery situated there. 2,000 feet long, the steel and concrete structure was built by a British firm.
