MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Sahara Atom Test. DESCRIPTION: The Sahara desert, near Reggan, about 700 miles South West of Algiers, was the site chosen for France’s first A-bomb test. Military equipment, including tanks and aircraft, had been assembled close to the spot to see how they would withstand the explosion.
