MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Weekend Run. DESCRIPTION: There was a big line-up for the Southern counties cross-country championship at Parliament Hill Fields. It soon looked as if John Merriman was going to win it. Among his followers was Gordon Pirie, running in his first big cross-country of the season. The result was indeed a run-away victory for John Merriman. SHOTLIST: LS line up. MS to LS runners start. MS John Merriman in the lead. GV rest of field. CU same. CU runners legs.
