Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Princess Alexandra. DESCRIPTION: A Super-Constellation touches down at Canberra, and Australia prepares to welcome a Royal Visitor. Princess Alexandra was beginning her first tour by herself. She was received by the Governor-General, Sir William Slim and his wife. Then, the Prime Minister, Mr Menzies & Dame Pattie. The Guard of Honour was inspected by the Royal visitor, it was mounted by the Royal Australian Air Force. Later at St John the Baptist’s Church, Her Royal Highness attended Divine Service.
