- Summary
- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Progress Report. DESCRIPTION: Quebec, the capital of French Canada, and the Royal Yacht sailed into Wolfe’s Cove to receive a salute of welcome. It was a cannonade which also, perhaps, recalled that historic victory won here by General de Wolfe in 1759. One engagement was with the Royal 22nd Regiment, Canada’s Crack Regiment. Her Majesty, as Colonel in Chief, was to present colours to them. This ceremony took place on the Plains of Abraham, the actual site of Wolfe’s great battle. At the Chateau Frontenac, a dinner was given by the Government of Quebec Province to honour the Royal visitors. SHOTLIST: FS Britannia (key). GV Quebec. MS party waiting. FS Britannia. SS same.
