Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: New Cardinals. DESCRIPTION: Dr Godfrey, Archbishop of Westminster, received his summons to the secret Consistory for the creation of new Cardinals. He selected his Cardinals ring. The new College of Cardinals was being increased to the total of 74, the highest in history. After the official creation of the new Cardinals, His Holiness was borne in procession on his way to receive homage from the members of the College. One by one, the Cardinals kneeled before the Pope in allegiance to His Holiness and to the Church. SHOTLIST: GV St Peter’s (key). MS balconies. GV Cardinals select rings.
