- Summary
- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: To Link Commonwealth. DESCRIPTION: The Sea was once the only link between the nations which are now the British Commonwealth. A telephone cable under the sea is the latest plan; to bring these countries even closer together. A cable has been specially designed by British Engineers. Seen here, it’s being transferred from factory to cable ship. Look westwards, the cable system will cross the Atlantic to Canada, then under the Pacific to New Zealand and Australia.
