DESCRIPTION: The East-West conference of scientific experts, which has been at work, in Geneva, for seven weeks, held its last meeting under the chairmanship of Russian Professor Federov (centre right). Agreement had been reached that it is possible to detect and identify nuclear explosions. Playing a leading role in the British delegation, was Sir William Penney (on left, nearest camera).
