Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Silverstone Motor Racing. DESCRIPTION: The 225-mile Race, sponsored by the Daily Express, took place at Silverstone. Mike Hawthorn or Stirling Moss? That was the question, but of-court, there was plenty of other competition. Peter Collins in a Ferrari (No 1) took and held the lead from the beginning. Moss, in a Vanwall, had engine trouble which put him out of the race. Hawthorn (No 2) could not catch Collins who drove on like the wind to score a great victory at an average of over 102. But Hawthorn’s in the lead for the title. SHOTLIST: MS Hawthorn and Moss together. MS Moss gets into car. CU Moss in car. MS Hawthorn gets in car. CU Hawthorn. GV pan start. LS cars round bend.
