Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Back to Work (Dock Strike). DESCRIPTION: About 20,000 dockers had been on unofficial strike for some three weeks, in support of the Smithfield meat drivers. Perishable goods and tons of food were in danger of rotting. So it was good news when some 13,000 dockers went back to work. SHOTLIST: GV aerial shot London Docks. Another same. GV Dockers returning through gates, closer same. LS same. LS cargo being lowered by crane. Closer same. MS cargo being lowered from another ship. Diff. angle same. MS small crane and men at work. LS cargo being loaded by crane onto lorry.
