- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Cyprus Flare-Up. DESCRIPTION: A curfew had been imposed in Nicosia, after four hours of rioting and arson in the Old City. Who started the trouble? The Turks say a Greek threw a bomb. Greek premises were attacked and smashed in the Turkish area, and several lives were lost in the fighting that followed.
