Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Nixon Goes Home. DESCRIPTION: Vice-President Nixon arrived at Washington after his tour of South America. At the airport he was welcomed like a hero and President Eisenhower himself was there. Cheering Americans were lining the route as they drove off. The Venezuelan Capital, Caracas, gave him rather a different welcome: people there stormed round his car, shouting, and hurling abuse. They smashed the windows. But the Nixons were lucky not to be hurt. SHOTLIST: MS Nixon & wife leave plane. GV crowd. MS banners. MS Mr & Mrs Nixon. MS Nixons & President Eisenhower. Slip pan to Slogans in Caracas.
