Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Seine. DESCRIPTION: Le Mascaret is high water on the estuary of the Seine. The tidal bore is sweeping along, towards Paris. Every year, at this season, river and tide engage, in swirling combat. In 1843, the daughter of Victor Hugo, the French poet, lost her life with her husband, when their boat was caught.
