- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: New TUC Headquarters. DESCRIPTION: In the new Congress House, the TUC at last has a fine London headquarters, the first real home-of-its-own in its 90 years’ history. It is reported to have cost a million pounds. Mr Aneurin Bevan came to attend the opening. Mr Hugh Gaitskell was there, too; and so was Trade Union leader Mr Frank Cousins. Sir Jacob Epstein’s sculpture: Mother & Son, commemorates trade unionists of all parties who lost their lives in two wars. SHOTLIST: MS trumpeters. GV building. Different angle same.
