Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Submarine Escape. DESCRIPTION: Demonstration of a new method of escape from submarines, which has been adopted by the Royal Navy. SHOTLIST: MS men changing into special clothing. MS men entering the escape chamber. CU men in the chamber wearing masks. The door is closed. CU men turning cock for flood water. Top shot compartment flooding. CU men breathing in their sets. MS same. CU man reaches up and opens hatch. Exterior of sub.: hatch opening. CU man making his escape. MS same. Exterior same. MS man floating up through the water. LS sea - breaking at the surface. Closer man with clothing now blown up. CU man in the water floating on his back. CU release of air to inflate trousers.
