MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Red Cross Hand Over. DESCRIPTION: The State visit to the historic town of Malacca by the first Paramount Ruler of the Federation of Malaya (Tuanku Abdul Rahman) underlined the newly acquired independence of the country. Then on to Kuala Lumpur for the handing over by the Countess of Limerick, of the Malayan Branch of the British Red Cross. As Vice-President of the British Society, she presented a Red Cross flag in token of the transfer of the Branch to independent Malaya. SHOTLIST: LS Selangor State Chamber. Closer shot.
