MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Arrival of Sir Hugh Foot. DESCRIPTION: Sir Hugh Foot, the new Governor of Cyprus, recently flew into Nicosia. Soon after he took the oath of office, an EOKA leaflet announced a strike to coincide with the United Nations debate on Cyprus. Riots flared up again. One of the new Governor’s hardest tasks will be to win over these trouble-makers from EOKA’s rule of fear. SHOTLIST: Shots of plane taxiing in.
