MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Poland V GB Mens Events. DESCRIPTION: The days of athletics in Warsaw with Britain suffering a very narrow defeat at the hand of Poland. On the first day the fifteen hundred metres was won by Derek Ibbotson in 3 minutes 43.8. Gordon Pirie won the 5,000 metres in 14 minutes 0.8. A highlight of the second day was the 800 metres which was won by Rawson in 1 minute 48.7 and Johnson a mere fraction of a second behind. British Women Athletes won their side of the contest, Diane Leather in the 800 metres - time 2 minutes 10.6. Finally the 200 metres won by Segal of Great Britain, who helped us win gain a winning margin of 18 points in the track events. SHOTLIST: GV crowds arriving at stadium. Same.
