Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Action in Oman. DESCRIPTION: Tommy Atkins is something of a tourist by nature - he’s served all over the globe, and wherever he goes he somehow manages to keep up the same standards of smartness, whether it be Aldershot or Oman. He was there to support the local levies who serve the Sultan. Brigadier Robertson, in command of all ground operations, was able to glean a lot of useful information from the local people. He was to put this information to good use later on, with his attack and successful occupation of the rebel Headquarters at Nizwa. RAF planes took part in the softening up process, preparing the way for the ground forces to begin their advance. SHOTLIST: GV small tank in desert 2 shots. British troops in camp. Several shots of soldiers cleaning teeth and shaving. GV Omani soldiers (x2). MS Brigadier Robertson with Omani officer. Several shots of Omanis. 2 shots of British officer talking with Omani.
