Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: A Chapter of Accidents. DESCRIPTION: Without warning, the roof over the main Tram-car and Bus Depot in Rome shuddered and caved in. The whole structure collapsed. In Sofia a terrific hail storm, it was so sudden that the Bulgarian capital was immediately flooded. Then to another accident off Bermuda, where British liner Reina del Pacifico ran aground. With seven hundred passengers aboard, she was firmly wedged on a coral reef. Three days later, with the aid of special salvage equipment she was set afloat and hauled off into deep water. SHOTLIST: Rome - Wreckage of tram & bus depot (71209). Sofia - Floods through the streets, motor cycle trying to get through flooded street (71216). Bermuda - British Liner Reina del Pacifico grounded on coral reef. Shots of removing cargo. . HAIL STORM - CARD 71216. Excellent material of a torrential downpour of hailstones. Large floods with masses of hailstones floating on same.
