- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Cup Final 1957 - Aston Villa V Manchester United. SHOTLIST: Crowds streaming into Wembley Stadium. Aston Villa team in their dressing room reading telegrams. Led by the team managers Matt Busby for Manchester United and Houghton for Aston Villa, they went out onto the field. Her Majesty came to watch the battle. Villa in the stripe shirts were the first to be presented to Prince Philip. The United. He spoke to players. Referee Mr Coultas supervised the tossing of the coin, Johnny Dixon of Villa spins. Roger Byrne calls wrong for United. Tommy Taylor kicks off for United. Villa on the attack. Peter McParland shoots straight at Ray Wood. Follows up his shot. Their heads collide. Both men go down. Manchester goalie knocked out. Jackie Blanchflower goes into goal. Ray Wood carried off the field. Blanchflower does wonders in the goal. Second half - Myerscough kicked off for Villa. After 20 minutes a centre from Dixon which McParland makes the first goal. A shot from Myerscough hits the post but McParland scores another goal from it. From a corner, Tommy Taylor headed in a goal. Johnny Dixon went up to the Queen to receive the cup. Dixon makes comment for Movietone. In Villa’s dressing room, the cup is used for another purpose.
