Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Hussein Cheered. DESCRIPTION: The city of Amman, capital of Jordan, presents an orderly prospect to the camera, but behind the facade, lurks uncertainty and anxiety. It is a country in a state of transition - and changes are seldom painless. King Hussein is finding this out. Nevertheless, he must be gratified by the many signs of loyalty - examples were shown from Bedouin tribesmen. Incidents within the Army Staff have caused the King to arrest over a score of officers and set up an army inquiry. SHOTLIST: LS Palace. MS flag of Jordan. M & CU Hussein. Swivel shots. Arab tribesmen shaking and kissing Hussein’s hand. CV Hussein salutes and leaves. LS and CV soldiers and armed cars. MS & CV Hussein being greeted by soldiers, they kiss his hand. Several shots of Hussein being lifted onto their shoulders and soldiers cheering.
