MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Canal Zone - Soviet Pilots Arrive. DESCRIPTION: After the seizure of the Canal by Egypt, the departure of many experienced Suez pilots was, almost immediately followed by the arrival of a number of Russians. These were the first to be recruited from the Soviet Union. SHOTLIST: MLS of ship up Canal. MCU ship up Canal - Statue of Liberty. Russian pilots out of bus and go into building. Men on balcony clapping. CU sign - ‘Trauaux - 1- Section’. Shots of Colonel Mahmud Younis. Naval officers walking and then get onto boat. LS two boats in the Canal.
