- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Tour of the Western Isles. DESCRIPTION: At Kyleakin, Piper Donald MacDonald played the Queen ashore. Accompanied by Princess Margaret, the Royal couple were given a rousing welcome from the islanders as they drove, with the Duke at the wheel for some 60 miles around the mountainous roads. At the Castle of the Mcleods of McLeod, at Dunvegan there was a clan gathering to celebrate the 21st birthday of the twin grandsons of the clan’s Chieftain Dame Flora McLeod. Her Majesty then returned to Britannia for the journey to the Outer Hebrides - to the Isle of Barra. They landed at Castlebay. On the following day, while Her Majesty and the Duke continued their tour, the Duke of Cornwall and his sister came ashore from the Royal yacht with Princess Margaret and Prince Andrew of Greece, the Duke’s Mother.
