Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Bulganin and Khrushchev Depart. DESCRIPTION: The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, and a night at the Ballet for the Soviet leaders, who were received by the Chairman of the Trust, Lord Waverley. Before leaving Britain, they were shown round the Palace of Holyrood House, during a flying visit to Scotland, they also visited Edinburgh Castle, where they saw the beautiful war memorial. Their five hour tour ended with the impressive spectacle of the Royal Scots beating the retreat. The visit to Britain and the top level talks were now virtually over. Cameramen at the Foreign Office seemed to entertain Mr Khrushchev as he and Marshal Bulganin came in for signing a Communique. The final scene was at the station, as the visitors were leaving for Portsmouth. Sir Anthony Eden was there to see them off after their ten day strenuous visit.
