Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Commonwealth Conference. DESCRIPTION: There was a crowd at Number 10 Downing Street, to see the arrival of the Commonwealth Premiers. Inside, the Commonwealth representatives posed for photographic records before getting down to important business. SHOTLIST: KS 10 Downing Street. Crowds outside No 10. Arrival of ministers Sir Godfrey Huggins, Mr Holland, Mr Swart, Sir John Kotelawala, Mr Mohammed Ali. Now inside No 10. First shot is of Churchill and Mr St Laurent walking towards the camera. Then a group shot. All the ministers pose for the camera. Now various informal conversations between the ministers, including a shot of Churchill showing the ministers a framed postal-order for 5/- which he had received from an old age pensioner on his birthday. Final shots of Eden talking to ministers and Churchill with Menzies.
