Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The European Games. DESCRIPTION: In Berne, the 5,000 metres provided a surprise when Kuts of Russia beat Chataway and Zatopek in a new world record time. Miss Thelma Hopkins of Belfast won the high jump at five feet five. Another of the big events was the 1,500 metres won by Bannister in 3 minutes 43.8. SHOTLIST: Shots of the 5,000 metre race.
