MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Aviation. Alcock & Brown Memorial. Alcock & Brown First Atlantic Flight. Helicopter Landing on South Bank. DESCRIPTION: At the South Bank Site on the River Thames, the inauguration of the new helicopter landing station near the Waterloo Air Terminal. Movietone were on board the Evening News machine to record the pilots view of the landing. The 35th anniversary of the first air crossing of the Atlantic, by Alcock and Brown, was marked by the unveiling of a statue in their honour by Lord Brabazon at London Airport.
