- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Save Our Churches. DESCRIPTION: Starting from Downing Street, where they had received a £500 cheque each from Sir Winston Churchill, Roger Bannister, Chris Brasher, Chris Chataway and Gordon Pirie ran to St Martin-in-the-Fields to hand over the cheque to other runners who carried them to other churches. SHOTLIST: Cut story - SCU Poster asking for silver to save the churches. In Downing Street Roger Bannister. Chris Chataway. Chris Brasher and Gordon Pirie are given £500 cheques by Mr Churchill who comes out of No 10 to present them to the runners. Various shots of runners on their way through the streets of London. At St Martin they hand them over to Mr Hamilton Kerr, Mr Geoffrey de Freitas and Mr Frank Byers. All politicians who carry them to various churches. Shot of St Paul’s Cathedral.
