- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Us Naval Disaster. DESCRIPTION: The worst disaster of American peace-time Naval history, when an explosion rocked the aircraft-carrier Bennington. Ninety-one seamen lost their lives and over 200 were injured in the resulting fire. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Aerial of Carrier. Aircraft Carrier Bennington steaming into port.
