Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Rail Crash. DESCRIPTION: At least 10 people were killed and sixty injured when an electric train crashed into a steam train on the Irk Valley Viaduct near Manchester, one of the coaches of the electric train plunging over the Viaduct into a stream 80 feet below. The steel construction of the coach is believed to have prevented a much greater loss of life. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Various shots of steam train and electric train lying in River Irk through gap in bridge. Wreckage strewn around. Firemen and rescuers working in general.
