Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: French Strike. DESCRIPTION: With the French strike spreading, large numbers of British holidaymakers have been stranded in Paris and other points in France, waiting for some means of transport to convey them to the coast for the journey home. At Victoria, hopeful holidaymakers make the journey to the South Coast, determined to start their holiday in spite of the strike in France. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Scenes at Victoria Station. French tourists read notices about returning home. Holidaymakers boarding train. Train pulls out. In Paris, people sit around. Private cars stopping to give lifts. French organise transport in lorries. Boulogne, British holidaymakers arrive by motor coach. Into docks pass poster reading Welcome to Boulogne. Holidaymakers boarding channel steamers.
