- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Visit to Caernarfon. DESCRIPTION: Historic Caernarfon was the focal point of the royal visit to North Wales, and the arrival of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh was followed by the traditional ceremony of the Key, which was surrendered to Her Majesty by Lord Harlech (the Constable of the Castle). SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. GV of Caernarfon, River in foreground. Another shot of castle. Royal car arrives, Queen alights with Duke. Walks up steps towards entrance. Lord Harlech comes out of castle bearing key on tray, Queen touches key. Procession enters through water gate. Inside castle procession walks to dais amid cheering and singing. Royal couple meet various local citizens. They walk to the Queen Eleanor’s Gate. Crowds outside castle cheering as they come out on the balcony. CU Queen and Duke acknowledging cheers.
