- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Visit to Scotland. DESCRIPTION: Impressive pictures of the HONOURS OF SCOTLAND presented to Her Majesty in St Giles’ Cathedral. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Elevated GV Edinburgh, looking along Prince Street. Train draws into railway station, Lord Provost, Sir James Miller presents key to Queen. Drive to Holyrood House. Crowds cheer. Queen arrives Holyrood House walks over to pony mascot of Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders pats it on the head. Next day, elevated GV drive along Princes Street, procession, various, massed pipe round bend, Earl of Dundee carrying Scottish banner, rides on horseback, preceding Queen & Duke in open coach. Mix to interior cathedral procession down aisle. CU Queen & Duke. Honours of Scotland presented to Queen who hands them back, first Sword of State, handed back to Earl of Home. Sceptre handed to Queen by Dean of the Thistle. Queen hands it back to the Earl of Crawford. SCU Crown of Scotland. Dean lifts it up, hands it to Queen. Queen holds it. Cut-in of flags in window of cathedral. Duke of Hamilton & Brandon receives from the Queen, procession (interior) walks down the aisle, & leave church. Crowds cheering, drive away.
