MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Mr Churchill (Sir) Abbey Appeal. DESCRIPTION: Sir Winston Churchill (as he has since become) launched the Westminster Abbey appeal in the Jerusalem Chamber. It was an appeal for the sum of a million pounds and the first contribution - money given by the Royal Family - was presented to Sir Winston by a Chorister. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. MS Abbey. SCU Dean of Westminster speaking on the Abbey Appeal which was followed immediately by the floods. Interior - Jerusalem Chamber, Mr Churchill stands & addresses gathering includes Mrs Churchill, Mr & Mrs Attlee. Appeals for money for the Abbey, over his voice shots of Abbey, interior & exterior, including CU of the Cross. One of the choristers presents purse from Royal Family. CU Mr Churchill asking you to send your pounds to the Dean of Westminster, Westminster Abbey, London. Note - Mr Churchill as he was when recorded, but Sir Winston when released. CU Coronation Chair.
