Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: North Sea Collision Drama. DESCRIPTION: The forward section sank when the 4,000 ton British Steamer Duke of York was cut in two. She was in collision with the 7,000 ton American freighter Haiti Victory. Injured survivors were landed and the floating section of the Duke of York was towed into Harwich. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Aerial of ships. Aerial of the Duke of York cross-channel steamer sliced in two, bows not afloat. Survivors come ashore at Harwich. Various shots of the US Haiti Victory damage to bows. Stern half of the Duke of York afloat & tugs alongside.
