MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Ideal Home Exhibition. DESCRIPTION: The Cross of Meriden in Warwickshire has been re-erected by permission of the authorities stone by stone in the Ideal Village of Olympia. The Ideal Village, which is one of the features of this year’s Ideal Home Exhibition, includes of course the ideal village pub. The Minister of Housing and Local Government, Mr Macmillan, paid a visit to the People’s House, in which he is vitally interested. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Sign Daily Mail Ideal Homes. Cross of Meriden in Warwickshire - same being erected with identical surroundings. Village pub. People play darts. General shot of main hall. Meriden Cross. Mr Harold Macmillan walking around exhibition. Toy section Flook & Others, various shots of gardens with waterfalls etc.
