MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Rugger - Springboks Defeat England. 8-3. DESCRIPTION: The Duke of Edinburgh was at Twickenham, where he was introduced to the two teams. Before a crowd of about seventy thousand, England fought hard to hold the Springboks, but the tourists won by 8 points to three. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Teams coming out. Teams on field. Duke of Edinburgh introduced. Crowd shot. England kick-off. General play. S Africans attack. England attack. England player loses his pants, scrum round him, his pants thrown out onto field. Scrum. De Toit plunges over line for try. Muller converts. Crowds cheering. General play. Hook takes penalty, fails, Winn, hurls himself over for a try directly after penalty. Scoreboard SA 5, England 3. S Africa kick-off. General play, Line-out. England nearly score try on wing. Muller takes penalty & scores, after ball hitting upright.
