Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Christmas Approaches. DESCRIPTION: From Adelaide comes the annual Christmas parade designed to persuade Australians that, in spite of their Summer weather, Christmas is really on the way. Australian stores are evidently well supplied with presents - a special display in a Sydney store of mechanical toys called Pixietown is the work of a local inventor. SHOTLIST: Adelaide - Various shots of procession through streets, accent of fairy tales, etc. Girls dressed as bells. Father Christmas in sleigh brings up the rear. Inside a store at Sydney, various mechanical toys, including submarines, row-boats, firemen, etc., cut-ins children watching same. Toy firemen in action mix to Rome, shows firemen giving demonstration, jumping from high building into canvas sheets, etc. (see next story for details - CARD 56325).
