Summary

DESCRIPTION: Francis Ouimet, the first American ever to be made Captain of the Royal & Ancient Golf Club, went through the ancient ritual when he drove himself into office at St Andrews. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. GV club & house on right. Members walk towards camera - GV. GV clubhouse. Francis Ouimet walks onto course. SCU cannon. Ouimet warming up swinging, Willie Auchterlonie tees-up ball. Ouimet drives off. CU cannon smoking after being fired. GV caddies chasing the golf ball. Caddies walk back, Arthur Speight near camera shows the ball. Presents it to Ouimet, shakes hands. Ouimet gives Speight a gold 5-dollar piece.
