MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: British Champ Off to New York. DESCRIPTION: Randolph Turpin’s departure in the Queen Mary from Southampton made headline news, for his victory over Sugar Ray Robinson had thrilled the British public - and now he was off to America to see whether he could repeat the performance. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. GV Queen Mary at quayside. Turpin walks along platform, at Waterloo Station, standing by door waves. Train pulls out of station. Taken from train - shot of signal-box just outside station with the words Waterloo - very useful stock shot. Inside train Josie Middleton with Turpin’s hand in hers, telling his fortune.
