Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Persia - Harriman Seeks Settlement. DESCRIPTION: Mr Harriman’s visit to Teheran, where he was met by Dr Grady, the American Ambassador, raised fresh hopes of a settlement. And while the dispute was in progress, the fist big oil-well blow out to occur in Persia for forty years’ operation by Anglo-Iranian, was being fought. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Harriman with Ali Raza. Harriman met by Mr Grady at airport. Walk into camera. Harriman enters Shah palace, received by Shah. CU of both. Arriving at Dr Mossadeq’s house. Inside - CU of both, also seated down at table with Mr Grady. Several shots of fire at oil well. CU Mr Myron Kinley. Equipment approach fire, hoses being played on same. Fighting fire. Men carry cases of dynamite. GV of explosion. Steel piping soaring into sky like piece of wire. Vertical line of fire. Another explosion. CU escaping gas. Equipment approaching gap to cap the gas & complete operation. CU cap approaching to close gap.
