Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Champion’s Homecoming. DESCRIPTION: It was at Gwrych Castle in Wales that Randolph Turpin trained for the big fight; and now the laurels of victory as he returns there. An even greater welcome was waiting for him as tens of thousands packed the Town Square of Leamington Spa for his triumphal return home. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Man makes way for Turpin through dense crowds. GV Gwrych Castle. Crowds outside castle. Interior - staff round table, Turpin at head. Turpin cuts cake. At Leamington Spa, Turpin drives through dense crowds to Town Hall. Elevated GV crowds outside Town Hall. Turpin in car with his son. CU Turpin kissing his mother. Crowds. Turpin makes short speech from balcony. Turpin waves to crowd, his mother beside him, with him are the Mayor of Leamington & Earl of Warwick.
