Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Cup Final - 1951. (Blackpool V Newcastle United). DESCRIPTION: Movietone presents the Wembley scene in detail. Stanley Matthews was again denied a Cup Winners medal as Blackpool lose to Newcastle. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. CU FA Cup. Various shots crowds trekking towards Stadium. Crowds inside stadium. Teams march onto fields. King walks onto field, inspects teams. Harvey (N/C) win toss, indicates with hands which way he wishes to kick. CU football in centre spot. Elevated GV kick-off. Ball goes out to Matthews. Elevated GV general play. Blackpool attack. Cut-in Fairbrother, N/C goalie on the alert. Newcastle attack Milburn scores, but it is offside. Crowds cheering. Cut-ins types watching game. Blackpool attack, ball just headed clear from goal-line by Newcastle player. Cut-in Royal Party, King, Queen & Princess Margaret watching game. Crowds. Second half - kick-off. Stan Matthews in play, centres ball nobody to receive same. Robledo gets ball, passes to Milburn who rushes up field & scores a lovely goal. Crowds cheering. GV Newcastle attack, using back-heel often. Taylor back-heels to Milburn who scores from about 25 yards. Stan Matthews in play, dribbling & taking shots at goal himself, shooting wide. Whistle blows-in sound. Newcastle embrace, shake hands etc, etc. Harvey receives Cup from King, after wiping his hands on his trunks. Walks down steps with Cup. Matthews receives losers medals from Queen. Harvey ‘chaired’ across field. SCU Harvey saying a few words into mike. CU FA Cup reading FA Challenge Cup, also names of winning teams on same.
