MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Accra Elections. DESCRIPTION: Big news from the Gold Coast, where the people recently went to the polls under the new constitution to elect members of the Legislative Assembly. SHOTLIST: Cut Story - KS. CU Polling Booth sign. Various shots people (natives) going to poll. Chief Paramount walks through street with his retinue. Various shots people queuing. Van with Your Vote is Secret on side. Native arrives wearing top hat. Europeans walk into polling booth. Interior - natives casting their vote, hands make cross sign on papers. GV votes being counted. Night material - Results being announced (silent). Crowds gathered in streets, climbing trees etc. to hear the results, & to see same announced from balcony of Government Building. GV daylight, of Government Prison.
