MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Christmas Story. DESCRIPTION: Christmas means shopping, of course, and what a game it is! Scenes at Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool, London and Paris show shops and shoppers in the familiar pre-festive activity. SHOTLIST: KS. SCU Christmas card with Father Christmas playing an organ. Glasgow - Various shots of Glasgow streets, with shoppers walk & look into windows. SCU male waiting with parcels. SCU woman looking around for somebody - maybe her husband. Interior - Father Christmas receives kids, shakes hands, kids look frightened. Manchester - Elevated GV crowds & traffic in Piccadilly, people walk in & out of shops. Shot from inside shop window, people peer in. Liverpool - GVs of stores. Interior - mechanical displays, wedding procession, drawing of famous pantomimes, Sinbad the Sailor, etc. London - trucking & GVs of front of Selfridges, Oxford Street. MS Father Christmas in sleigh being drawn by reindeer, displayed in front of Selfridges. Paris - interior - children walk along hugging rail looking at very good mechanical displays. Various shots of mechanical displays, horse with feet on counter over saloon bar, etc. In Cheshire, various scenic shots of snow covered countryside, roads, etc. Cars covered in snow. Boys playing "snowballs". Interior shot, looking through window out at falling snow.
